Event Details
An impressive 120 members and children of ITServe DMV Chapter came together in their efforts to eliminate hunger at the 2023 August CSR Event on Saturday, August 27th, 2023, at 44645 Guilford Drive, Ashburn VA 20147.
Joining hands with Rise Against Hunger, a growing global movement to end hunger by empowering communities, nourishing lives, and responding to emergencies, the family-friendly event hosted by the DMV Chapter’s CSR had family and friends of ITServe, where they helped pack 30,000 Food Packets.
Thanks to the generous contributions of our members, we were able to donate $14,000, and our volunteers assembled 30,000 Food Packets at the event, benefitting the noble mission of Rise Against Hunger, an international hunger relief non-profit organization that coordinates the packaging and distribution of food and other aid to people in developing nations. Rise Against Hunger is driven by the vision of a world without hunger.
The young volunteers who spent their time generously were awarded 3 volunteer hour certificates. We got an overwhelming response with 120 people registering for the event and 100 of them came out at this “giving back event.”
