National Disability Awareness Month is observed every year for the nation to work together to help create a social media campaign that highlights people with and without disabilities coming together to form strong, diverse communities.
The campaign seeks to raise awareness about the inclusion of people with developmental disabilities in all facets of community life, as well as awareness of the barriers that people with disabilities still sometimes face in connecting to the communities in which they live.
Celebrating National Disability Awareness Month, the North East Chapter of ITServe CSR Team was delighted to join the campaign and support this noble cause. Members of the Team raised funds and donated $1,000.00 on March 17th, 2023 to Alliance Center for Independence, a Nonprofit Organization in New Jersey that helps the differently abled members of the local community with various programs and assistance, thus making their lives better and independent.
At ITServe, we recognize that Disability is a part of the rich tapestry of human diversity and something that nearly all of us will experience at some point in our lives. It’s also a significant identity that defines how we experience the world. Supporting and helping them with our contributions is indeed a great way to make a small difference in the lives of people with a wide range of needs.
